Benton County Traffic Courts
Benton County Circuit Court is the state trial court for traffic and violation cases cited into state court. Its Criminal and Traffic Unit is in Room 104 at the courthouse, and it processes violation, misdemeanor, and felony matters. Circuit Court traffic citations are commonly set for Monday or Thursday at 9:00 a.m., with some more serious matters set for 1:00 p.m. on those days. Personal appearance is required for felony and misdemeanor cases.
Municipal courts handle city traffic, parking, criminal, and code violations within their cities. Corvallis has its own municipal court and citation portal. Philomath also has a municipal court with an online payment/search portal. Monroe Municipal Court uses phone and email contact for payment arrangements and court-date resets. Benton County Citation Portals
Corvallis Municipal Court offers an online search and payment portal for many city citations. The Corvallis citation search supports searches by citation number, driver license, Social Security number path, vehicle plate, name, or business name. Date of birth is required for several person-based paths. Parking citations issued on or after May 1, 2026 use corvallisor.rmcpay.com instead of the older Tyler municipal portal.

That distinction matters because paying the wrong office can delay a response or leave a city citation unresolved.
Philomath Municipal Court uses a similar online court portal for citation number plus date of birth, driver license plus state and date of birth, vehicle plate plus state, first and last name plus date of birth, and business name. Benton County Traffic Record Details
A Benton County traffic court record is a case or citation record. It may show the citation or case number, court, charged violation, appearance date, plea, default status, fine or bail, judgment, disposition, payment status, and warrant or default status if the person missed court. The OJD case register is an event log. It can list filed documents, hearings, trials, notices, judgments, and reminders, but the free public view does not provide copies of pleadings, orders, exhibits, or transcripts.
Traffic charges can also overlap with broader criminal records. DUII and some misdemeanor traffic cases are processed through criminal and traffic staff and may require personal court appearance. A person seeking the full case file, not just the citation status, may need the OJD case record and a copy request to the court. Pay or Contest Benton County Tickets
Payment options depend on the issuing court. Benton Circuit Court uses OJD Courts ePay for many cases, and also accepts mail payments with the full name and case number. Corvallis Municipal Court allows online payment if the person is not contesting the citation. Philomath accepts online debit or credit card payments, phone payment help, mail to PO Box 400, in-person payment, and drop-box payment at City Hall. Monroe directs people to call 541-847-5175 during City Hall hours to pay in full by phone.
Contesting a ticket is different from paying it. A person who wants a trial, court-date reset, or payment plan must use the issuing court's process. Monroe states that a person may email the court to reset a court date or request a monthly payment arrangement. Benton Circuit Court warns that failure to appear or post bail by the citation date can lead to default judgment, added fees, collection, and possible suspension of driving privileges with an added fee.

Benton Traffic Records vs DMV
Court traffic records and Oregon DMV driver records are different files. The court record is the public case or citation history held by Benton Circuit Court or a municipal court. The DMV record is a state driving-history file maintained by Oregon DMV. It can include convictions, DUII diversion agreements, accidents, license status, suspensions, and CDL or employment-related details depending on the record type requested.

Benton County Traffic Record Fees
Exact court costs and fines depend on the violation, the issuing court, and any default or collection status. The research documents specific Benton Records & Elections public-record copy fees, but those county recording fees are not the same as Circuit Court traffic fines. For Circuit Court copies, Benton directs copy requests to the court by email, drop box, or mail and says to expect one to two weeks after initial receipt. Benton County Traffic Access Limits
Traffic court records are public in many routine cases, but access is still shaped by Oregon public-record rules and court policy. ORS 192.311 through 192.478 covers Oregon Public Records Law for public bodies, while ORS 192.478 separately addresses Judicial Department records. ORS 192.324 allows public bodies to set copy and inspection procedures and charge fees. ORS 192.338 supports separating exempt and nonexempt material when redaction is possible.
Not every traffic-related matter is a simple public ticket. Juvenile cases are restricted under ORS 419A.255. Sealed and set-aside records may not appear in ordinary public search. Oregon set-aside law under ORS 137.225 excludes traffic offenses and several serious categories from relief. DMV driver records are also limited by ORS 802.175 through 802.191, which means the requester must qualify for state driver-record access.
